New Years!!

New Year's has always been my favorite holiday. Weird, I know. It must just be the concept of "ringing in the new". Out with the old, in with the new. New beginnings, starting over, second chances(or third, or fourth..)

One of the best parts for me is dressing up. I'm not a very girly girl so I take full advantage of New Year's. I pretty much just pretend that I'm playing dress up. Tutus, tiaras, full make-up. 

This is what I wore in 2007.

 

It was a vintage dress I'd found at this lil' gem of a place in the town where I'm from(in North Louisiana). This was probably the first and only time that I really had a big New Year's. It seems as a result of it being my favorite, it always comes up short. I feel like one day I'll have the New Year's that makes up for it all. Engagement anyone?! :)

As of now our New Year's plans for this year are to just hang out around the house, pop some fireworks. I probably won't be dressing up much but I found these dresses that I would wear:)

 

When else can you wear full on sequins or an 80's party dress?! Are any one you wearing anything exciting for New Year's? Any fun New Year's plans? Resolutions?

 

Christmas List

In an effort to get this organized myself, I though I'd share it with you.

J and I have split responsibilities this Christmas. He is getting the boy's gifts while I handle all the ladies. Fine by me:) All my gifts will be handmade!

 

I'm making this scarf for J. 

And these coasters. I'm using souvenirs, maps, and pictures from our vacation this summer. 

J started taking pictures again with his old 35mm camera this summer. His camera strap was completely worn out though. I want to surprise him with a brand new one. Here it is(almost finished).

I made this for Kelly. Ignore the sink full of dirty dishes;)

And I'm still working on this crochet neck warmer.

I've been looking up how to make plarn. I think I'll make Mrs. Sandy("mother-in-law") and Christine a bag out of plarn. I love the idea of recycling old grocery bags. It seems no matter how hard I try to use my canvas bags I still acquire so many plastic bags. I'll put them to good use:)

Amanda is expecting a little one is April so think I'll make something for him/her.

These booties are so cute I could eat them.

And for her lil' ladies. I'm making scarves. I am still working on Claire's and here is Grace's.

Last but certainly not least: Kai. 

I want to make him something that he just may keep forever(fingers crossed) and I think this cute bear may do the trick!
